Thank you for deciding to
breed to Amorex. To book the breeding, you
will need to do the following steps:
1. print and sign two copies of the contract,
The contract is on the website, just scroll down, http://www.magpiefarm.com/amorex.htm.
2. Send both copies of contract, and your booking fee of $250
3. Please include a copy of your mare's papers, and a photo (or you
can e mail me a photo). If she is not registered, please include whatever
breed info you have on her. I will also need a description, i.e. "bay,
white snip, sock on left hind" for when I send in the breeding
report. * You can send in the contract
first, and e mail or mail the photos later.
4. Mare Health Form :When you are close to breeding time, and your mare
is in heat, please have a reproductive check and what is called a "culture
and cytology". Mare Health Form
please click here
*
This just lets you know that she is clean and ready to breed.
She needs to be in heat for it. It is fine to do it on the
same heat you want
to breed her on; you can send me the paperwork as we go along
(I don't hold the shipment up) . I just want to
know that it has been done. It is really to help you and to
make sure she will be able to conceive.
5. Just let me know when you are thinking of breeding. If you
are in a northern state, the early heats (March, early April),
will be transitional
heats--sort of the mare's body warming up but not quite there.
Those follicles are less likely to result in a conception.
It is nice to wait
til maybe mid-April
to start breeding; I often wait til May so it will be warm
when the foal comes.
6. Be sure to send the rest of the fee, $200 (for a total of
$450), before you need semen shipped.
7. Please let me know when your mare goes into heat (and you want to
breed on that cycle), so I plan for it.
8. We collect and ship Mondays through Fridays; we only have Fed
Ex to ship for us, and they do not go on the weekends. If you are
nearby,
we
can collect for you on the weekends. Please call by 8 pm the night
before you need a shipment. Same-day shipments incur a $25 fee.
best regards,
Mary
