Debatress, (known as Big Bird), is a
classic TB mare, bred in Yakima, Wa by Carl and Bonnie Johnson.
This wonderful mare was the foundation of our breeding program.
Debatress was shown at the 1991 American Holsteiner Horse Assoc.
inspection in Seattle, Wa. She was Regional Champion
Mare, Premium, and the three judges
from Germany said, "It is an honor to bring this mare into
the Holstein breed. She is the kind of thoroughbred mare that
we would like to import back to Germany". 16.3 H, 79 1/2"
hearth girth, cannon 8".
Debatress's foals have had a
wonderful record. Amora, (sire Amorex), was 25 points, 1st class,
in her Swedish inspection, the highest score given in North
America that year. The Swedish judges said it was remarkable
to see a canter so good in a young foal. Cocoa, sired by Amorex,
was also 1st class.
An earlier foal is Cadet, by
Couer de' Amor, Gayle Hildreth's deceased stallion. Cadet has
been in the highest year-end scores in Region 6, at First Level
.
Christabel, Conquistador/Debatress,
was ISR Premium Mare and site champion of her inspection. Christabel's
foals were Ferdinand, rated 1st Class at his inspection, and
Rum (Amorex/Christabel) was 25 points, highest score in North
America the year he was inspected.
