Cathy River's new colt, Helios!
Amorex/Crystal Wand xx

Mary, I’d like you to meet my little miracle, Helios. In this picture he isn't’t even three days old. He came out big and strapping, with the longest, straightest legs of any of the foals I have bred. He’s got lots of bone, a neck a mile long, with a beautifully refined head. He’s gonna be a heart breaker! He is my FOURTH cross with Amorex to my TB mare, Crystal. When the babes come out so consistently superior, how can I not keep coming back for more!

Hi Mary,
I am writing to let you know that Armada arrived May 7,2010 at 0015. We had a difficult 2 days with him, but he is doing so well now. He is just wonderful. He is very large, around 11 hands at 2 days old. He is a bay with no signs of greying...

Donnie (gelding by Amorex)

From owner Emily Briggs, DVM:
On a different note (Don't be horrified!), I took my 3 year old Amorex gelding to a friends ranch for riding during their spring branding. One of the cowboys LOVED Donnie and asked if he was for sale (No). Anyway, I let him take Donnie for a little ride and he roped a couple of calves off of him! He did great, though he is much better suited for eventing :) Did you ever think any of Amorex's foals would be used as a cow horse? Picture attached.

Glamorex

Amorex/Christabel 2008 SWB filly

My beautiful Glammie passed away Thursday March 25, from a very rare condition-guttaral pouch mycosis. (a fungus creates a lesion on the wall of the carotid, in the guttaral pouch). Sort of like an aneurism. One of those weird, rare things that could not be helped. Much more common on the eastern U.S.

Glammie had a very fun week just before she died, with a new horse as a friend and much playing in the big pasture.

to my dear friends-- thank you for your help and good wishes.

I am happy to report back to you that Amador was the 2009 Dressage Breeding Reserve Champion 2 year old Colt. Amador is our young stallion by Amorex and out of Cameo. We look forward to a busy show season in-hand for Amador again in 2010 as well as some under saddle classes.
Oh yeah, I was voted onto the NWSHBA Board of members, so we shall see what I have gotten myself into :)

Inspection news: Cathy Rivers showed her Amorex filly Arpeggio. Arpeggio scored a 48 with a 9 for Head, Neck, Body: “Beautiful head, well formed, well set neck, sloping shoulder, well formed, muscled croup and hindquarter.”

Cathy also presented Crystal Wand for the marebook. Crystal Wand is a 19 year-old TB broodmare. She has 11 offspring, 8 of them warmbloods with 5 being Swedish. 3 of her Swedish offspring were presented for inspection, with 2 receiving 48 points as foals and a yearling receiving 46 points. She was awarded a Class 1 rating and the classification for a specific marebook is pending. The overall remarks read, “Good in shape for that age with good quality of the gaits”.

From Robin Ginn:

Amazing Grace GF received a 47 and Class I at the inspection. She received a 9 on Type with comments “light, feminine, well proportioned, tall legged”, a 9 on Head, Neck and Body with comments “beautiful head, well formed set neck, well developed shoulder, sloping croup. She received and 8 on legs and 7’s on her gaits. Her final comments were “Well developed. Modern sport type. Could be more supple in movement.” I am so proud of her!

The Royston, GA inspection bode well for Amorex. Both of his fillies shown were class I fillies.

I have attached a photo from the time frame around the inspection. She is a furball now and pictures are not the most attractive.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and happy holiday season!
Best to you,
Robin Ginn

2 Diploma Mares, many 1st class foals, a wonderful time had by all.
Jan-Ove Olsson and Lass Berglund were kind and thoughtful in their remarks;
always teaching and helping us to understand our horses better.

To all the people that came; thank you so much and it was an amazing day. Everyone helped so much and the applause certainly helped the horses to jump better!

A special thanks to Betty Ann Cohen and Cathy Rivers and Ewa and Marek Lichota. Could not have done it without you. (And Sean Rae and Adrianne Gabris, who ran their athletic legs off). Congrats on the Diploma for Lovisa, Adrianne!

Bam's First Show

Hi Mary,

It's safe to say that Bam is going to need to move up a level or 3! The next show or two he'll do the 3'- 3'3'' class and then will most likely move up to 3'6'' by the end of the summer...we're going to have a great time jumping big fences :)

Amorella

Hi Mary,
I wanted to let you know that my two year old Amorex/Anytime Pleasure filly won the 2-year old filly class at the June 14th Breed Show at Ten Broeck Farm in MA and also qualified for the USDF Breeders Championship New England series at NEDA this fall! I'm so thrilled with her and she has been such a joy for this past two years! I'm planning on taking her to one more breed show in August and I would love to take her to the SWANA inspection but the closest one is in MD so it's a long haul. Enclosing a few pictures, they are not the best but I wanted to pass on.
All the best!

News Flash: Hi Mary,
I took my 2-year old Amorex filly Amorella to the SWANA inspection in Saco, Maine last week. We had a wonderful time and Ella was awarded 1st class and with 47 points was the highest scoring horse at this site! She just keeps amazing me. If I had the correct membership with USDF (I was a GMO member at the beginning of the season before I became a participating member) she could have qualified for a Year End Award, she would currently have been in 5th place! It's always next year...:-)

All the best,
Kristina Almqvist

Hi Mary.
We welcomed filly number two this morning. Gaea delivered a beautiful
big filly. She's as big as Ambrielle - who is now three weeks old.

Both Gaea and filly are doing great. We haven't decided on her name for certain but Phoebe is a leading candidate. Gaea is from ancient mythology and as the story goes she had a daughter named Phoebe.

It is going to be wonderful to watch the two half-sisters grow up together. Ambrielle is quite the ham. She loves attention and likes to be the center of it just like her mom Callie. We can't wait to see the two fillies playing together in the pasture.

Thanks again for helping with our decision to breed. These are beautiful filly's from two very different mares.
Best regards,
Diane McNelis

Neemo
2009 SWB colt
Amorex/Nadiwa

Hello Mary!
Didja get the photos? I picked a name for him today....It's available with all the registries as of today and I found it on a Swedish baby name site as well so seems ok....OK, here goes, "Neemo". (wait, I have a vision of a little striped cartoon fish....) Anyway that's it. My husband says he likes my first impulse of Noodles and is going to keep calling him that. Great. So little Noodles, mmm, I mean Neemo, is doing grand and the mare is doing well also. He is very calm, inquisitive and sturdily built. Lovely. At 3 hours old was cantering quietly around a 12x16 stall!

Glamorex on a rainy day

2008 yearling filly, Amorex/Christabel

Lovely photo by Amy Kolzow

Mary,

Yesterday morning I walked out to clean stalls at 10:30 am and found this surprise waiting for me out on one of the paddock shelters! Crystal gave birth to a very feminine chestnut filly with 3 tall socks, a broad blaze and tons of blond highlights. She has an amazingly calm temperament (for a redhead!) and beautiful light rhythmic canter!! When she was standing for her baby shots this morning, she did the perfect piaffe without putting any pressure on my arms!! She is going to be fun to watch develop. Can’t wait to take her to inspection and see what the judges make of her. I am confident that Amorex has given us another Class 1 foal!!

Her name is Arpegio because of her perfect timing and rhythm. Her nicknames…so far….are Peg, Princess Peg and Peglet!!

All is well and she is proving to be a complete sweetie!!! She has Amorex’s calm disposition, bless him!

It's a Girl!!!!
Hi Mary-
Great news! My mare Phoenix delivered a BIG, healthy filly at 6:30 this morning with no complications. Mama and baby are doing great. We will name her "Anticipation". She is a beauty! I'll send pics later on today. She was up nursing within 45 minutes and has been showing us her canter half pass in the stall along with other upper level movements that she is still perfecting.

I couldn't be happier! Give Amorex a carrot for me and tell him thank you.
