Gestion Silvano N produces price highlight of
Midden Beemster Auction

Auctioneer and stallion owner Piet Meinen was more than pleased with the results of his auction in Midden Beemster, The Netherlands. Besides the large interest shown by many visitors and spectators, the 1999 Foal Auction can be seen asa profound (financial) input/stimulant for the Dutch Warmblood Breed. Price high light of
this year's auction was Silhouet, a bay filly branded KWPN but primarily carrying a Holsteiner lineage. The lovely moving Silhouet is sired by Dutch Dressage Team stallion Silvano N. Silvano N is a Holsteiner bred sire by Silvester and is stabled in Germany. Trained
and shown by the Dutch Ellen Bontje, Silvano has been a paramount contributor to team silver at the 1999 European Championships.

Silvano is the sire of the wonderful young KWPN stallion, Prestige.
Shown here with trainer Edward Gal

Prestige won the KWPN Stallion Competition at Z-level in 2004. As a 3-year old he won the Stallion Testing in Sweden in 2000.He is considered one of the best young stalioons in Europe....

 Olympic Gestion Silvano N

We have been honored to represent Silvano N, a fantastic Holstein Stallion. We are no longer able to obtain Silvano N semen. A few Silvano foals will be born this year and next year from our clients (and we have one coming!). Please check back to our sales page to see if any come up for sale.

Silvano N has often been the highest ranked FEI Dressage stallion in the world, in a long and brilliant career.

Height: 171 cm (=approximately 16.3h.)

Silvano N was ridden by Ellen Bontje for the Dutch equestrian team. Conrad Schumacher (their trainer) calls Silvano "the best stallion in the world". Silvano N was 6th at the Sydney Olympics in Grand Prix Dressage, and was part of the silver medal Dutch team in Dressage.

Although Silvano has been a top European dressage stallion for years, his Silvestor bloodlines are also known for jumping ability. Silvano was originally a Grand Prix jumper, until his owner the late Mr. Neff of the farm Gestute Im Niedern teamed up with trainer Conrad Schumacher, deciding to emphasize dressage with top competitor Ellen Bontje.

Breeding Information
  • Frozen semen:  8 straws per dose

  • No LFG

  • We first brought in Silvano N frozen semen in 2001, with excellent pregnancy rates. We ourselves bred two mares and got both pregnant on the first try. In 2002 we bred one mare, without ultrasound as it was a major holiday, and still got Nicole in foal! (We definitely recommend using an experience repro vet for frozen semen, and ultrasound is normally a necessity!).

Registration:

  • Silvano is approved Holstein in Germany. He is also approved in other warmblood registrations; however you will be responsible for the one-time activation fee, for the registry of your choice.

  • The Swedish Warmblood Association (SWANA) will register foals from Silvano, as Swedish, if from a registered Swedish mare.

  • Basically, you should check with your preferred breed registry. They will probably all accept Silvano because of his outstanding performance record! You may need to pay any onetime stallion fees.

  • The Trakaener breed only accepts Trakaeners and TBs, so that is not an option.
